ブラジルのマリーナ・シルバ前環境相が緑の党に入党し
大統領選出馬を検討しているというニュースを9/2に流したところですが、欧州緑の党連合がこれを歓迎するコメントを発表しました。

　欧州緑はマリーナ・シルバのブラジル緑入党の決意を歓迎し、彼女が大統領候補として出馬することを期待する。
　欧州緑の党の共同代表は前ブラジル環境相・マリーナ・シルバが
与党労働者党を離党してブラジル緑の党に入党する決意をしたことを称賛した。
　欧州緑の党の共同代表でオーストリア緑の国会議員でもあるユルリケ・ルナチェクは次のように語っている。

　「マリーナ・シルバがブラジルの我々の姉妹党に入党し、2010年の大統領選に出馬を検討していると聞き、とても喜んでいる。
　マリーナ・シルバは環境全般、中でもアマゾン雨林保護の力強い活動を過去数十年に渡って続けてきた。ポルト・アレグレでの世界社会フォーラムで会ったことがあるが、私は彼女のカリスマ性とその人柄に深く感銘を受けた。
　手段を選ばない開発事業者たちからの容赦ない圧力に立ち向かってアマゾンを守ろうとする彼女の勇気ある行動とその妥協のない誠実な姿勢はブラジルのみならず世界中の環境保護活動家と緑の人々からの尊敬と称賛を勝ち取ってきた。」

　欧州緑の党の共同代表で、フランス語圏ベルギー緑の党、エコロの国会議員でもあるフィリップ・ランベールは以下のように続けた。
　「欧州緑を代表して、私はマリーナ・シルバがグローバル・グリーンズの仲間に入ったことを心から歓迎する。
　マリーナとブラジル緑の党の人々は、環境保護と持続可能な経済成長、さらには社会的および環境面での公正さを、必ずや2010年の大統領選に向けた政治の優先課題とすることができると確信している。
　マリーナ・シルバはその政治的経験と強さによって素晴らしい大統領候補となるのは間違いないので、彼女が緑の大統領候補として立候補することを強く期待している。
　また、我々は前文化相で世界的に有名なミュージシャンであるジルベルト・ジルが副大統領に立候補することも期待している。
　このわくわくするような時期に、我々は緑の党とマリーナ・シルバの成功を祈っている。」

EUROPEAN GREENS WELCOME MARINA SILVA’s DECISION TO JOIN BRAZILIAN GREENS EGP HOPES MARINA SILVA RUNS AS PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

The Spokespersons of the European Green Party have applauded the decision of former Brazilian Environment Minister, Marina Silva, to join the Brazilian Green Party ( Partido Verde do Brasil) after leaving the governing Workers’Party(PT) .

EGP CO-Spokesperson Ulrike Lunacek, who is also an Austrian Green MEP, said:
“ We were absolutely delighted to hear that Marina Silva has joined our sister party in Brazil and that she is considering running as the Greens’candidate in the Presidential elections in 2010. Marina Silva has been a staunch defender of the environment in general, and the Amazon rainforest in particular, for decades. I had the chance to meet her in person at one of the World Social Forums in Porto Alegre and I was deeply impressed by her charisma and personality.

Her uncompromising integrity and courageous defence of the Amazon in the face of unrelenting pressure from unscrupulous developers have earned her the respect and admiration of environmentalists and Greens in Brazil and indeed throughout the world.”

EGP Co-Spokesperson Philippe Lamberts, who is also a MEP for the French-Speaking Belgian Green Party Ecolo, continued: “On behalf of the European Greens, I would like to warmly welcome Marina Silva to the Global Green family.

I am sure that Marina and the Brazilian Greens will be able to ensure that environmental protection and sustainable economic development,as well as social and environmental justice, are high on the political agenda in the run up to the Presidential election in 2010. We very much hope that Marina Silva runs as the Green Presidential candidate as her political experience and personal strength would make her an excellent candidate.

We also hope that Gilberto Gil, former Culture Minister and world-renowned musician, decides to run as Vice-President. We wish both the Partido Verde and Marina Silva every success at this very exciting time.”
